PASMA

The Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA), is the leading authority on mobile towers in the UK and operates a highly successful training scheme which is fully audited. Over 4000 people a year are awarded PASMA training certificates.

The Construction (Health & Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996 require that the installation or erection of mobile access towers should be carried out only under the supervision of a competent person.

A competent person is considered to be a person possessing such training, technical knowledge or experience as may be appropriate having regard to the nature of the activity.

Cape Hire and Sales offers a recognised PASMA one day training course run by one of its nationwide network of professionally qualified trainers. PASMA Training Courses are only available from approved PASMA members and are not available from any other source. A PASMA A4 sized competency certificate and a credit card sized ID card with encapsulated photograph is issued to successful delegates who pass the written and practical tests.

The course involves both classroom and practical sessions and upon completion of the course the delegates will:

  • Have an understanding of current relevant legislation.
  • Be able to demonstrate that they can safely erect, inspect, tie in, move and dismantle aluminium towers in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
