Cape Hire & Sales is a division of Cape Plc, a £260 million company operating primarily in the oil and gas, petrochemical and power generation industries.

The Cape Group was founded in London 1893 and was initially involved in the manufacture of insulation products for major industries. The Group moved into the contracting environment around the 1950's with the formation of Cape Contracts, installing the various products manufactured by the other divisions of the Group.

The Cape Contracts division saw rapid growth and undertook work in Europe and internationally through Cape Contracts International (later Cape East). In 1976 Cape Scaffolding Limited was created to service the access requirements of the Cape Contracts division and of external clients. Amalgamation of Cape Contracts and Cape Scaffolding occurred in 1994, resulting in the contracting organisation as it is today, Cape Industrial Services Limited.

The Company and Group Head Office is located in the UK in Wakefield but through its subsidiaries the company has 20 offices in the UK and Ireland and 19 overseas.

Cape Hire and Sales
Cape Hire and Sales is the trading name for the hire and sales business. It was formed in 1990 with the opening of the first branch in Billingham and since this date has expanded rapidly, now operating from 10 locations throughout the UK.

The company supplies scaffolding, access and non-mechanical plant on a hire or sales basis to various clients in the construction and engineering industries and to organisers of specific entertainment events.

As well as traditional tube, fittings and boards, Cape Hire and Sales offer system scaffolding, temporary fencing and hoarding, alloy towers and a full range of metal and timber plant.
